Gerard or Gerrard?

www SG

with reference to No Gerard, no Gerrard, what would be your preferred pick?

1. GH MUST GO, even if liverpool lose one of their best midfielders.

2. Liverpool can't afford to lose Steve, let GH stays.

798 SG

i’ll pick no. 1. i don’t think steve gerard will be so stupid to leave liverpool.

www SG

why is it stupid to leave liverpool? u mean its the best club in the world?

the Bear SG

with GH, you can't get anywhere because even the best players become useless with him around?

however, with a brilliant manager, you can make a bunch of mediocre players into a GREAT team!

www SG

there's always two sides on a coin.

at times, its not solely the manager's fault. i always stress that both players' attitudes and determinations are just as important as manager's the credibility.

let's look at a few examples:

bobby robson, one of the great managers, almost faced relegation managing newcastle at a point of time. was it because of the team or the manager?

peter reid was once a unheard name until he brought sunderland fame and glory a few years ago. with proven records, his credibility was again questioned after he failed to wake leeds from their slumber.

so is it his managerial skills or the players abilities/mentalities? mind you, leeds aint a lousy team.

on the other hand, consider raineri's position. he is armed with a team, if not, two teams of skillful players. yet, chelsea is always struggling to win their opponent. just look at their goal difference every match.

my point here is that it takes two hands to clap. one has to understand that the winning formula doesnt always lies with the manager, but with the players as well.

i personally dont hate GH, but i dont fancy his defensive strategies as well. look at the bright side, liverpool is now at 4th spot instead of fighting for relegation.

at least he is doing his job better than roy evans, who could even smell third spot, as far as i recall.

standing from neutral point of view, i aint really bothered if GH stays with liverpool next season or not.

it is just that i have been hearing so many negative and solemn opinions as if they can do a better job. if so, why aint these people managing liverpool but GH?

maybe they played too much championship manager? hehe

Who goes or who stay, I dun really care.

Just play as a team, day in day.

Show the fans some consistency.

Dun play with any BIG names.

That is the BottomLine

Poolman SG

Gerard Houllier played a major part , if not all part, in the downhill of LFC !

We had a decent winning team when he took over , but for whatever reason , he dismantled the whole team ! And got those unknown French from his continent , and start playing like mid-table team !

We had David Thompson , which he sold to Rovers !

We had Dominic Matteo , which he sold to Leeds !

We had Patrick Berger , which he sold to Portsmouth !

We had Jari Litmanen , which he gave to Ajax !

We had Robbie Fowler , which he sold to Leeds !

We had J.Redknapp , which he free to Spurs !

This is the example of players , anytime , to name it , can be crucial to LFC Champions' League ambition !

Let's not forget Robbie Fowler , who scored an over-head kick against Charlton that season and sent Pool into UEFA Champions' League ! This is the example I'm saying ! These are the players that in one game , can perform miracle !

But GH prefers to kick out the old players , and rely on those French kids , that do not know what's the meaning 'winning' is for - for a Kop follower !

Poolman SG

All in all , LFC needs a new mgr for a new challenge ! GH is not suitable for this hot seat !

IF Stevie Gerrard wants to resign to LFC all because of GH , let it be ! We can afford without him !

Anyway , we are used to be ransomed by players ! Stevie is not the first !

Who knows , there's 10 of Stevie Gerrard at the LFC academy waiting by the wings , standing by for a call-up , who knows ?

Conclusion : Sack this french a_s and expect SG to go and see what happen ! I can assure the fans , It'll not be the end of Liverpool Football Club !

I think its something wrong wif the coaching staff...

Good players came to Liverpool and became mediocre players
Examples: Diouf, Dudek
then mediocre players left Liverpool to become superb players
Examples: Kvarme, Westerveld(Sociedad), David Thompson(Blackburn), Brad Friedel(Liverpool) and many many more..

I think the goalkeeper coach is lousy ..must change..

Poolman SG

It's very wrong everywhere at Liverpool ! Crying or Very sad

First The Board of directors , appointed the wrong manager ! And sticking to him when everything went wrong and not action still !

That French A_s is the main factor la ! He's just F-ck type !

The goalkeeping coach is ex-Man City Legend of Joe Corrigan ! He does played a part in the sacking of Sander Westerveld !

I felt Phil Thompson also played a part !

The players themselve , did no justice themself and fans around the world !

The fans in Merseyside also ...... Laughing why don't they boycott the home games ! Maybe we will see a drop in the season ticket holder , now they felt that why waste all the season ticket they purchase earlier in the season , maybe this coming season they will really do something !

www SG

the BOM is wrong.
the manager is wrong
the asst. manager is wrong
the coach is wrong
the players are wrong
even the fans are wrong.

and you're right.

hmmm.. *lub chin*

can i ask why aint u given the job instead?

Maybe you're right too.... Laughing

Anyway , perhaps ..... you have not been to Liverpool.fc.tv forum ? You should....'cos i would say 95% of the people there are as "right" as me ! Wink Not many people supported the board and GH ...... especial GH , many like to have GH's head as souvenir , just in case GH felt like going home ! Mr. Green

What I'm saying here is not 100% from there , but maybe 95% is from their translation !

Anyway anyway , how I wish there's no anyway !

As this is the Liverpool's Fan Forum, every one is free to express his opinions toward the REDs.

No matter what happened, win or lose, as a Liverpool fan, I want the team to do good.

Even in defeat, as long as they improved after the match, it is a good lesson learnt.

This season may have illustrated the big headedness in some players in the area of not giving their best every match.

The tactics of the manager have played a part too.

But, the present manager seem to be acting blur in the aspect of the "progress" of the team.

He have been given four seasons to prove his worth.

His buy have not repayed him in playing well, namely Heskey.

So far, the Coveted EPL tiltle seem to be a distant dream.

If the same team and same manager stays, the next season will be the same as this season.

Kana kick out of UEFA Cup.

Kana kick out of League Cup.

Kana kick out of FA Cup.

Struggling for 4th place ? I am not sure of this. I am seeing a mid table Liverpool.

Word of Fairness:

The group of players that GH get rid of are TALENTED.

But, they are injury-prone and one a bad discipline case.

Except for Sander the goal keeper, that is the only player that GH have make a emotional decision than rational decision.
