Båseline SG

Michael Owen has warned Liverpool that he may seek pastures new should they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League this season.

Here's the denials from LFC Official website that Owen is going nowhere and said Owen was misquoted.

According to the media today, Michael Owen has issued a threat to walk out on the club he loves if they don't qualify for the Champions League. In reality, he's said nothing of the sort.

the Bear SG

looking at LFC’s form, Owen is GONE….

Båseline SG

With 18 months left on his current contract and no signature yet... Owen might just holding up and see if Liverpool has what it takes to win major trophies.

Tho He had denied to leave, the first article illustrated the potential events might happen if the current squad are not good enuff to win trophies.

On the commercial end, it'll be disastrous for LFC to lose Owen for free if he still hasn't sign soon. That will be alot worse than when we lost Macca for nothing to RM. Neutral

For the squad, definitely he will be miss since the majority of the goals past Seasons relies heavily on him.

[size=large]What's up next , Owen ?

Even if he choose to leave , i was wondering , which club would want him ? Or can afford his monthly wages , or weekly ?

Again here , we are talking about Real Madrid again ! Real has Raul and Ronaldo , Owen is not in the class yet of Raul or Ronaldo , honestly ! Physical and mentally !

[color=blue]Raul , like Fowler , used their head than their legs to play football ! They're both very clever player ! Raul has two very good feet , good ball-skill , and good heading capabilities !

Ronaldo has everything a Striker has ! Speed , vision , accuracy , skills , ball control , movements , play on-side capabilities !

[color=red]Owen has alot to learn from them !

Does Real really needs Owen ? Unless they need someone as sub ! 25 million pounds for a Sub ?? Shocked

Serie A ? Haha....I have to give it a laugh ! Serie A are not a place for English ! And.......I'm so sure Owen can't make it at Serie A !

He'll only go to Spain , that's Real Madrid , or Barcelona !

Go if you want , Owen ! You'll never know if you never try !

When Bosman is concern , he has to go to the Continent ! Who else can afford him ?

Poolman SG

[color=red][size=large]Worried about lacking of goals ?

Tell you what ! You sell Owen for 25 million pounds to Real , I'll get you a similiar scoring machine , or even better scoring machine , for less money !

You hear that Houllier ?

I have many options , like ....
1.James Beattie
2.Diego Tristan
3.Mark Viduka
4.Alan Smith
5.Cisse
6.Pongelle
7.Marco Delvecchio
8.Steve Thompson (Glasgow Rangers)

You don't tell me I can't have this players for 25 million pounds ? Maybe even two of the above listed , maybe three !

It's all about Money , bro !

No players are indispensable , including Owen !

X-men SG

I some how feel that it might do Liverpool good if Owen is gone.

So that they can change their attacking formulaof long ball.... Heskey knock down for Owen to chase, try to beat defenders with his pace and score... the WHOLE EPL teams know how to handle this attacking formula liao.. that is why Reds cannot score.

Inzaghi SG

dun think liverpool will achieve anything this yr...if they end up without a CL place this season, owen might be tempted to leave..somemore, might leave on a free.....

maybe he will leave to join Man U to partner RVN??. Shocked

Parka SG

pool has not good attacking flow nor buildup.

Båseline SG

Somehow... the way Liverpool plays mirroed to the tactics employed by GH. But credit to him, he has recently adopted a more attacking approach. But the front two's movement and play is still very much left to desire.

Heskey is deployed machiam like the gd O' days of Centre Fowards... just that he can't score a decent one. I do like to see more of Pongolle in action along with Owen. At least it's not gonna be predictable and these two speedsters do made opp defences edgy.

Michael Owen will leave.

If Owen moves to RM, he could likely end up on the sub bench. Basically I felt he is better than Raul in term of skill but Raul is indispenable as football politics goes (Raul is fav son of RM). Ronaldo is out of question as right now he is contribute in scoring for RM.

Owen will likely to end up in Barcelona or MU. He can't survive in Italy.

[color=red][size=large]UCL or no UCL , go or no go , even if he really chose to go , he'll never chose to go Mourn U !

He's not only an idol for Liverpool fans , he's an icon for majority of the English ! He won't be so naive as to chose Mourn U and in the end , makes people dislike him !

makeorbreak SG

It's pretty disappointing to hear that from Owen.
I would think it's the best thing ever to play for your favourite team.

Perharps, he really yearns for success.Like what Poolman said, make sure he doesn't do a "Mcmanaman" and we'll be alright with another striker.

Bad News!
Saw tonight wan bao that Real Madrid had made illegal approach to get Michael Owen. Anyone saw that too? Shocked

makeorbreak SG

Oh that's great.Maybe they can include a part exchange.Send Ronaldo or Raul over. Razz

All this talk abt Owen,He wants to leave, let him leave.Just make sure he leaves at a price. No more free tansfer bullsh]t.

gasband SG

If Michael Owen leaves, it may not be bad. I love him and wish he would stay but if he leaves, it may wake the players up and cut out the over reliance on one player. And maybe if they bring in a striker like Tristan and Cisse, who are very good players as a team, LFC may flourish as a team

798 SG

Forget about Raul, he was indispendable because even Real President listen to him.

I doubt Real will part exchange Ronaldo as well. I won't be surprised RM used dirty tactics to get Owen for very cheap price or even free, just look at how many illegal approach by them in the past.

makeorbreak SG

haha..i was jokin.Of cos Raul and Ronaldo won't come.I bet they won't even let Guti or Portillo come over.

Well,it's down to Owen.He has a say in the transfer. But I will never imagine Liverpool to make the same free transfer mistake twice in the last 5 years.Plus,it's potentially a lot of money involved,At least 20 million pounds.

Poolman SG

[color=red][size=large]Raul or Guti ? Hahahaha...... Laughing

No la ! I don't think they will ever leave Real Madrid , which can provide them UCL every season !

Anyway , Liverpool can't afford their demand ! Embarassed

British game not for them la ! England will be their last alternatives , if given no alternatives ! Shocked Hahahaha.....
