Is this still a valid case to lodge shoplifting to police?

Need some professional advice here.

This person brought in 2 jackets into the dressing room which one was the lower price. After he tried and decide to purchase that jacket. The price tag of the jacket was swapped to the lower price tag. Keep mum then cause I was afraid of getting myself into trouble as I am only helping this "friend" to choose the jacket. The shop attendant was kind enough to point out that the price was wrongly tag and he paid with the correct price eventually. Shop attendant did suspect the price tag was swapped.

Only realise yesterday when I came cross that could turn into a criminal case if the shop attendants choose to lodge a police case on the spot.

May I know if this is still a valid case to lodge to the police?

unless got evidence he did the swapping (cctv in fitting room. but again, tts not very nice also)

can easily say the shopkeepers themselves tag wrongly

and stop hanging out with such friend(s)

It's plausible,but I don't think they will.

As already suggested, don't hang out with such friends.
