NS: How to go to police?

Vigelic SG

Hi, I'm going to NS in 2 months for BMT. I'm still very confused about everything but how do I become police after BMT?

Cause one of my "what do i want to be" is a traffic police officer..

But there's no way to become a TP directly right? You have to go through the academy right?

Also, in NS, do they choose whether you become police or scdf or military or can you choose? If they choose it, how to affect the choice? Or can I "sign on" to police?

I really really hope I can become TP for NS (No I'm not trying to haf a easy NS or want to catch people for fun. It's really one of my job aspirations.. so dont flame me thanks)

Thanks for any help >.<

I tried called 6547 0000 (TP customer service) about recruitment today but nobody want to answer..

eh ok i read that already but it says application takes 1 month juz to process? i'm already posted to tekong.. my fren saes posted to tekong means no chance to get to be police officer already.. if tat's true then how?

also, IF let's say i sign on for police, minimum bond is 2 years (means NS 2 years after that renew or NS 2 years + 2 years police bond)

and, the 6 month Police Officer Basic Course at the Police Academy is STAYIN? means onli can book out on sat morning book in on sun evening?

i start my basic course immediately? no nid to go bmt?

after 6 months what happens? what are the working hours like? can i choose to be a traffic police officer?

kinda urgent since my reporting date for tekong is in 55 days..

u are a current police? u went thru the basic training? um. so police basic training replaces BMT? what's the difference in the training? wad time lights out and wake up all that?

hmm.. and u think bookout is friday evening ah? then book in is sunday evening? issit confirmed like that? public holidays how?

after 6 months what happens? what are the working hours like? can i choose to be a traffic police officer?

unanswered from previous post >.< : IF let's say i sign on for police, minimum bond is 2 years (means NS 2 years after that renew or NS 2 years + 2 years police bond)?

corebooster SG

if u haven serve NS is 5 years bond.

training is 6 months in camp training. book out on friday n bookin on sun.

training is study law and physical training.

whether u can get into TP depends on the vacancies and whether u r needed in TP or other places need u.

since u r already in Tekong, even u are able to apply, u still have to go thru the police interviews, and whether SAF wish to release u to go to SPF is another thing.

he hasnt enlisted yet, he just got his posting order to bmt..

better don't waste any more time. just keep trying to contact the recruitment line or go directly to their recruitment office (no idea where, just check on the web).

you can try to apply for a regular. that's the only way to get you out of tekong. Might take sometime though.

But.. how fun is being a TP... ?
