If we catch too much, it will add to the crime stats.. then i will be called up for a special meeting to get roasted….then they ask me to take the next tour...

huaiwei SG

They scared the mata too pissed off with the prisoner who whalloped them jialat jialat when being arrested I suppose? Wink

chunyong SG

true. either that or they ask the army personnel get the person they want to the gates and the PO bring the fella back. if the POs go in they have to surrender the arms stuff

cornyfish2000 SG

Just wondering, do POs carry m16s in any department? Are they trained in it or is it just for wayang during NDP every year?

anthony77 SG

Or they scared the prisoner overpower the mata and snatch his gun and use the cop as hostage?

Anthony

qazplm SG

its just for preventive measures....... mainly is safety reason....... Mr. Green

qazplm SG

yes, we are trained with m16 during the days in Police Academy.....

In SPF, if you are not trained for the certain arms, you are not allowed to even carry it.... let alone wayang..... i believe you think too much..... Mr. Green

malcolmloke SG

Perhaps it's as a form of courtesy as well?Read it somewhere that this practice of surrending arms once out of your own base and into another organisation's "territory" or "jurisdiction" , you have to respect that and hence surrender your arms. This was written in a US based context, whereby the local Sherrifs upon entering a US military base would do so. They are only allow to carry with them unless with proper authorisation and in "exception circumstances" which it was not stated what would be one.

Maybe this is another reason?

huaiwei SG

Walao....prisons wardens got no wespon one meh?

chunyong SG

PR-21 and some got taser bah...

SpecOps87 SG

Wats a PR-21?
Hmmmz.......any idea if those Ghurkas/Sentries posted at the guard towers in Prisons are using SAR21 or still the M16S1?

chunyong SG

a longer version of t-baton

Luke1976 SG

Taser? Won’t there be some human rights issue with the use of those kind of weapons?

cornyfish2000 SG

I don't think those guard towers are manned anymore, now with all the cctv and high tech stuff rite? I've never seen anybody on them (at least not in the old changi prison fortress for the past year).

huaiwei SG

But actually you all trained in M16 for what ah? Very Happy Like how often u touch it in your entire length of your career!

chunyong SG

there are, just dat they are cloaked like predators. they use plasmacasters, not 5.56/7.62 rifles.

cornyfish2000 SG

For greater firepower when the need arises... though i can't imagine mata walking around with m16s. Smile

cornyfish2000 SG

right Laughing

chunyong SG

they also have the disc and speargun, they will use the 3 red dots to warn u, if u still try to escape then they will fry you with plasma.

been rumoured sat the cctv got plasmacaster on them too. Twisted Evil

huaiwei SG

Well.....there is always SOC to call upon when greater firepower is needed what. Very Happy

Aiyah...now the govt wants us to get used to the idea of seeing bigger arms around them....so matas with m16s....why not? Laughing

SpecOps87 SG

Haiz...anyway,who knows, someday we might even see matas setting up roadbloacks with the SAF in their Bionix IFV or M113 APC setting up roadbloacks. And also, they may decide to position SADA on all tall buildings in Singapore and equip them with Rapier,Igla,Mistral or RBS 70 missile systems.

Side-track alittle, what are cops gonna do when war breaks out?join the SAF and repel the enemy or what?
