When is TRACOM moving?

malcolmloke SG

Any idea when is TRACOM moving? Been hearing news since 2000 but well, it's still at Thomson Road. Smile

houndy SG

it is moving somewhere next year to the new site in CCK... it is going to be called LEAS or something like that... you can go see the buildings.. it is the near police K9 unit there...if go down by KJE can see..... Smile .. Now all must squeeze into the bus with the army personnel whose camps are also there.. JIALAT man

huaiwei SG

Next year.....last year they also said next year leh? Laughing

The last time we saw the site, it looks less then 50% complete.

larry_longwei SG

ever wondered why those twerps changed it to “Training Command” when most of the world still remains as “Police Academy” .. ?

houndy SG

Maybe Training Command sounds more tacky than police academy… hmmm

houndy SG

The later the better, if got course at PA.. then from my house or division to there very far sia.

huaiwei SG

Agreed loh.....I live in Hougang, and I actually commute to PA/TRACOM/LEARS/Whatever very frequently. If they want to move now, they jolly well build an MRT line below the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve from AMK to Bukit Panjang first! Laughing

houndy SG

haha....for me i think i will just borrow a car...use SPF petrol to commute to those places.

huaiwei SG

Sekali get charged. Very Happy

Anyway, think I shall go dig up my pictures of LEAS (the model) I have somewhere in my PC....

malcolmloke SG

Haha
Something better be done to make the place more accessible. There's only a 2 laned road( one for each direction) that links it to civilisation.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think only bus 175 plys along that stretch.

houndy SG

something like that...hmmm...

Understand SG

err, its 172, from CCK to BOON LAY and vice versa.

qazplm SG

after the ground breaking ceremony few years back.... its rumour that it will be done end of next year..... perhaps can ask any of your friends that are in K9 to look at the site whether hows the progress of the new site by sight? Mr. Green

malcolmloke SG

Oh well, I remember passing by the site some 2 months ago. Well I do see some dogs (K9) running around an otherwise pretty untouched land. Smile Initially I thought I was at the wrong location, but well the sign board confirmed my location.

Maybe I should make another trip to see how's the progress going ? Haha..

huaiwei SG

Just discovered there is a small section on the LEARS thing in the spf intranet. Wink

Seems like it is still "on schedule" leh...because the schedule seems rather long in the first place anyway.

malcolmloke SG

Haha.. when it's ready it's ready.

sbst275 SG

Bus 175??? @ Lim Chu Kang???

huaiwei SG

Why?

sbst275 SG

So ulu

huaiwei SG

Now then you realise ah...

How I wish they end up offering free shuttle service to the nearest MRT. Very Happy
