Bomb Supression Blanket

doghouse837 SG

how u guys think about this newly equipment that spf had just brought
cost around 7k each set
made from from the same material of the bullet proof vest
but its in cross stitches
come with one GRP stand.
and do they think that the PO will use the blanket when they find a object??
thats my question

the Bear SG

actually, i wanna know how a blanket can supress a bomb?

a bomb thingy where you place a bomb into, and let it detonate safely is about 5 to 10 tons already...

doghouse837 SG

works on the same theroy as a greanade and some one use his body to cover it
they tested in overseas
and they are happy with the results

ditzy SG

You gotta be kidding? 50gms TNT with a 0.1KN yield I believe.

doghouse837 SG

they tested it with 1ton of TNT with nails and ball bearings
and the results is good loh
within 50m, no sign of damage of the nails nor ball bearings

ditzy SG

So how big is the blanket they tested it on? It sounds really BIG.

the Bear SG

1 ton??

probably nothing left within 50m..

laurence82 SG

Shocked

any pics?

doghouse837 SG

about 2m each side
weight about 38kg

doghouse837 SG

sorry, no pic
just a simple blanket

ditzy SG

1 ton of TNT is alot loh. Can take out like 8 city blocks plus minus 25%.

ditzy SG

and did 1 ton of TNT? Now that is totally unbelievable.

doghouse837 SG

thats is what they tested
cause terriost wont bring around 1ton of TNT around
haha

doghouse837 SG

but the blanket after used, cant be reused again
and it meant 7k gone

the Bear SG

doggy, i think you got your facts mixed up..

1 ton of TNT will flatten a couple of city blocks..

doghouse837 SG

no, i didnt get the facts mixed up
cause our OC squad went there and see
and they do it in a open place in cambodia

ditzy SG

then ur OC squad got their facts mixed up, not you. Ok, case closed. Laughing

doghouse837 SG

haha
if my oc squad got the facts wrong, she wont be holding the place she is holding now
and the ppl in training command wont look so highly on her liao
haha

the Bear SG

okay.. if you think so Wink

think you guys have been had....

serious...

coz 1 ton of black powder, not to say TNT will flatten everything in 100 metre radius already...

and that blanket will be blown sky high and into orbit...

1 long ton = 2240 pounds
1 short ton = 1000 pounds
1 metric ton = 1000 kg = 2204 pounds

the Bear SG

people can be mistaken...

in this case, it's like wrapping a tissue paper around a firecracker and expecting it not to blow your fingers to bits..

i'll remain skeptical Wink
