SCDF has been alerted to a fire at a construction site opposite 17 Punggol Field Walk. SCDF is at scene conducting firefighting operations.

SCDF is at the scene mitigating the construction site fire with 4 water jets. The fire engulfed an area of approximately 30 metres by 50 metres.

Two workers who were stranded on a gondola had been brought to safety by SCDF rescuers. Both were conveyed to Changi General Hospital for smoke inhalation.

The fire is under control and *damping down operations is currently in progress.

*Damping down is a term used by SCDF to describe the application of water to wet burnt surfaces immediately after the fire is put out. This is to prevent any potential rekindle of fire from the hot burnt surfaces.

About 4.30pm today, SCDF was alerted to a fire opposite 17 Punggol Field Walk. The fire involved contents of a construction site measuring about 30m by 50m. The fire was extinguished by SCDF using 4 water jets at approximately 5.30pm.

Officers from the SCDF elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) conducted a height rescue operation to bring 2 workers, who were stranded in a gondola, down to safety. They were subsequently conveyed to Changi General Hospital for observation for smoke inhalation.
