Fire breaks
out at eight-storey warehouse in Jurong
SCDF was alerted to a fire at a warehouse cum office complex at
30 Toh Guan Road about 7:40 am. The fire, confined to the external
facade of the building, was extinguished by firefighters within 40
minutes. A total of 2 fire engines, 2 Red Rhinos, 2 fire bikes, 5
support vehicles and 2 ambulances were deployed to the
incident.
A woman in her 50s was conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital
for burn injuries. SCDF firefighters are currently conducting
*damping down operations. The cause of fire is under
investigation.
*Damping down is a term used by SCDF to describe the application
of water to wet burnt surfaces immediately after the fire is put
out. This is to prevent any potential rekindle of fire from the hot
burnt surfaces.
