Fire breaks
out at Rivervale Plaza, no one injured
SINGAPORE: A fire broke out at the rooftop of Rivervale Plaza on
Saturday morning (May 21), but no one was injured from the
incident, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
The SCDF was notified of the incident at 7.13am and despatched two
fire engines, two Red Rhinos, four support vehicles and an
ambulance to the scene, and the fire was put out within 20
minutes.
Patrons at the coffee shop had self-evacuated when the officers
arrived at the scene, it added.
The fire took place at the ventilation exhaust guard at the mall's
rooftop, and the cause of the fire is being investigated, SCDF
said.
