Fire breaks
out at Bangkit Road coffee shop; no one hurt
SINGAPORE: Residents had to be evacuated after a fire broke out
on Wednesday morning (Mar 16) at a coffee shop along Bangkit
Road.
No one was hurt in the incident at block 257 Bangkit Road, which
took place at about 10.30am, the Singapore Civil Defence Force
(SCDF) said.
Some members of the public left the building prior to the
firefighters’ arrival. SCDF said they evacuated residents from the
first two storeys of the block as a precautionary measure.
Three fire bikes, two red rhinos, a fire engine, a support
vehicle and an ambulance were sent to the scene. The fire was
extinguished with two waterjets within 30 minutes, SCDF
said.
