I insured with Chartis for my travel to Shanghai on Jun 2012. Got sick and admitted to Hospital. Made a Claim when back to Singapore. Till today, no news. Very dissapointing and I have no choice but to get a lawyer to write to Chartis.

Only hotline is provided. Call many x either no response or will tell you to leave message. Put on hold till you give up. Search for other means, no mean of contact in Chartis network except feedback in general. Put on feedback and no news eventually. More than half a year, unable to get the status of claim. I think they just play with time and hope you give up with all the inconveniences and unable to proceed further. Now I have to spend more to get legal aids. Not everyone has the time and money to do that. So, this is how Chartis operate its business. I will not get involve with Chartis anymore. Instead of helping you to have peaceful travel, it gives you more frustration and agony when unfortunate happen in your travel.

If Chartis Insurance considers Shanghai East Hospital is a fake hospital, please enlighten me rather than just drag on, despite my many attempts to check on the status of my claim for more than half year. Well, I don’t think so. If this is the case, Chartis should list out a list of authorized hospitals to visit when insured fall sick before travel to avoid such claim. Just like Motor Insurance, we are advised of the authorized workshops.

to wat i noe hosiptals there do very extra , like put u on drip even u only got a simple flu. so insurance dun wan to pay. but since u r insured why no use CASE to complain?

i highly believe that chartis is located around raffles place area. why not pop by down to their main office and sort things out. from what i understand insurer generally keep to their promise for small claim such as hospital claim to protect reputation. unless your ferrari burst into flame then maybe they may ignore u la( >.<)

i have attached the address for you. i tried calling in before and understand your pay, but save your money on your lawyer fee, try this approach its would be better as i travel alot. i usually get my travel insurance off my agent who would handle it for me and pester them for me.

Since submission of claims on Aug 2012, with Chartis Policy purchased, all medical bills, air tickets, passport details, and other documents, and I have taken cabs many times to the office to voice my concern but to no avail. Chartis would tell you to wait for reply and then keep quiet about the issue. The office is situated at an inconvenience spot at the foot of the building near Keppel Road under AYE (Expressway). A distance to walk by MRT and limited choice of bus services plying there. You have to change bus or train even you are only about 1km away from Boat Quay. I think probably they hope you die soon travelling up and down the office and they can escape the liabilities.

try CASE? consumer association of singapore? its located at the community centre at bouna vista. i think its call ulu pandan cc. you have the right against them or you can try to complain to LIA life insurance association of singapore, its located at suntec city if i m not wrong. search up their details
