SINGAPORE: Fire engulfed a heavy vehicles repair plant at Jalan
Papan early Sunday (Jul 12), the Singapore Civil Defence Force
(SCDF) reported.
The SCDF were alerted to the
fire at 12.56am on Sunday at Tian Quan Engineering Pte Ltd at 2J,
Jalan Papan, off Jurong Port Road.
Four fire engines, two red
rhinos, 16 supporting vehicles, two unmanned firefighting machines
and one ambulance were dispatched to the scene. About 80 SCDF
personnel were involved in the firefighting
operation.

Firefighters used six water jets and an unmanned firefighting
machine in the operation and confined the fire to within the plant.
It took about two hours to extinguish the fire with firefighters
also having to use foam in certain areas of the plant, the SCDF
said.
The SCDF is currently carrying
out damping down operations, and the cause of the fire is under
investigation. There were no injuries reported in the blaze.
