A SCDF spokesperson said:
"SCDF was alerted to an incident at 1039hrs. SCDF dispatched 1 fire
engine, 1 fire bike, 2 red rhinos and 1 supporting vehicle to Blk
501 Bishan ST 11.
"The fire involved contents of a bedroom of a unit on the second
level. SCDF conducted forcible entry, and extinguished the fire
using 1 water jet.
"The fire was confined to the bedroom. As a result of the fire, the
rest of the unit was affected by heat and smoke.
"SCDF also had to conduct forcible entry to the adjacent unit as
thick smoke enveloped the corridor and had spread to the
unit.
"This was done to ensure that no one was trapped or had been
overcomed by smoke. There were no persons trapped within the 2
units and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is
currently under investigation."
