A fire broke out at about 8pm on Thursday at Food Republic, a
food court in Wisma Atria shopping centre. No one was injured.
It is believed that no one was in the area at the time. The fire
started on the ceiling in a corner of the food court. The cause of
the fire is being investigated.
A spokesman from the Singapore Civil Defence Force said that
they received a call at 8.15pm, and sent four support vehicles, one
fire engine, two Red Rhinos, and a fire bike to the scene.
The fire was extinguished using 13 fire extinguishers, and a
hose reel, and was brought under control in less than 10 minutes,
the spokesman added.
