CDA launches time capsule as part of 10th anniversary
celebrations
SINGAPORE : The Civil Defence Academy (CDA) is celebrating
its 10th anniversary this year. As part of the celebrations, Deputy
Prime Minister and Home Affairs Minister Wong Kang Seng launched a
time capsule on Friday evening.
The capsule contains mementos, photographs and training materials
to commemorate the academy's first 10 years.
The capsule will be opened in 2034 when the CDA turns 35.
The minister also said that training for officers will receive a
boost when the first phase of construction on a 30-hectare Home
Team Tactical Centre at Mandai Road is completed in April
2012.
He added that the new tactical centre will be a comprehensive
training facility customised to meet the future training needs of
both the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Singapore
Police Force. - CNA /ls
