STOMPer Woofair was having dinner at
Balestier when he witnessed a fire that was later put out by quick
thinking SCDF fire fighters.
In an email to STOMP yesterday (16 Sept), the impressed STOMPer
says:
“The fire broke out around 7pm. apparently, it was caused by an
electric short circuit.”
“10 min later, a Red Rhino arrived at the scene followed by a
police car.
"Then, there were at least four more fire engines, one ambulance
and one police car assisting to put out the fire.
“They took about 10mins to get the fire under control. Good job to
the fire fighters! Without their swift action, there may be more
houses along the stretch swallowed by the fire.
"By the time we left the scene, there were no casualties or
injuries. I hope not anyway.”
