joe_cole SG Hi people, I am wondering if Pes C1 can be medics. And medics here meaning ambulance attendant (A.A at fire station) not those hospital medics. but I am still interested to know what does a hospital medic do. like what are their job scope. also, can Pes C1 medics be medic instructors or medics at BRTC medical center? TIA
SMRT Buses SG Pes C1 pple should be able to be stn medics as well as instructors or medics at BRTC medical center but I think its on a case by case basis & hospital medics are there to take down the turnaround time for ambulances at hospitals, help EAS crew take supplies like canvas & drawsheets but usually I label them as "CMO's spies"
Cool-gal SG hey. im thinking of signing on for navy medic but i scared i cannot tahan the grossiness of blood n torn-flesh..
Rockhound SG medic as a job..never go army arh...scdf is much better... unless u in 1st Med Squadron..CSAR.. regulars in the army will end up as Senior Medics...and Senior Medics job scope is suck balls one....highly stressfull
sir_peanuts SG hi, what would be usual circumstances that you can normally expect? can list (broken arm, broken leg, asthma...)? thanks.
SMRT Buses SG 1) Common cases include...fracture, breathlessness, fainted, very sick, heart attack, etc 2) Rare cases include...fall from height, decomposed bodies, amputated body part (e.g fingers, toes, hands, legs)
Rockhound SG handled road traffic accident.. spinal injuries fits.. psychological problems whereby soldier snaps during training jump from height.. severed vas deferans(the cord that connects the testicle to the body lots of heat injuries.. burns... alot of funny funny thing
Cool-gal SG wah lau, sound so gross. i tot medic only handle the internal staff eg: recruits and station in camp??
martin_lim85 SG combat search and rescue ar? haha ya last time go 1ms report sick also must wait near half day. senior medics looks real busy there.
Unidentified SG Im also aiming for medics fot my NS , dunno pes A too high hope for that vocation i thought decomposed bodies is handled by the black van aka undertaker SCDF want deliver decomposed body to where ? I think most of the people also cannot handle gross at 1st right , it take some time to get used to gross ba ? Self questioned : i think tears , fracture amuputation i can take it but currently i may not used to seeing people vomit (i may feel vomiting too) , eye injuries (hair will stand) and decomposed body ??
Unidentified SG Ok , but definately most people starting as medic sure got their fear right ? Beside taking time to adapt to it , do the medic often get chance to consult the doctor or psycologist to get oneself more used to it ? And the something im really confuse about , what is a station medic ? the medic to look after the station people , or those stay at station , but got something on then hop on the ambulance and go ? Then what the difference between medic and paramedic ?
