Firemen take half
an hour to put out fire at Defu Lane factory
A late Sunday night fire at Defu Lane took some 40 firemen half an
hour to put out.
The fire at a one-storey furniture factory-cum-warehouse started at
almost midnight.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said the fire was fuelled by
timber and wooden furniture.
Firefighters had to use nine water jets and one water monitor to
put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to the other
factories in the vicinity.
No one was injured in the blaze and investigations are underway to
determine its cause. - CNA/ch
