take over father's signboard business

I just graduated 6 months ago from uni and stepped out into the working world. After working 6 months, I find myself working long hours to get a pittance salary. I am thinking of taking over my father's signboard business. Do you guys think signboard is still a viable business? We used to have around 3 workers but now its all a 1-man show. My dad worked for over 20years but didnt manage to expand the business because the older generations dont really try to catch up with using computers and latest tech.

Of course, I cant do it alone. I am intending of joining some entrepreneurship program such as ken chee's brand mastery and already registered for adam khoo wealth academy. I also hope to find some partners.

What are all your views?

nothing ventured nothing gained, it is a good foundation, OMO will make you well trained to manage it from the bottom to the top, there are SME funded programs , please carry on your family legacy , who knows you will make it big, think small and managable then expand slowly- good luck

you got to estimate your success rate in taking over the business and earning a living out of it.

If it aint going to earn your more $ or make you happier if you take over the business,
you may want to get a job instead.

Talk to your father for some insights into the business if you really want to do the business.

Got to look into current customers, repeat purchase, future customer etc

And not to forget that in any business you have an plan to be prepared for any "unexpected". For example, In the past, if anyone open retail business, those "educated" businessman will said that if you want to generate more profit, you have to open more branches for sales, however during the SARS period when customer prefer to stay at home, this idea proved to be risky and "outdated".That why reserves fund is always have a MUST for any business.

i am in business and here's a suggestion that is within your context... if doing something a certain way always been producing a result that isn't satisfactory to you, then it's time to change the way you do things. this is applicable to life in general, not just business.
