My boss offered me a salary during the interview (verbal agreement) which I find acceptable. But after working for one month, the contract offered to me is different. There is a $300 decrease. Shit, I feel so cheated. How? I turned down all the other potential interviews for this job. Although I can learn alot from this job, I feel the $300/month is too much. So gek sim. 6 months contract.

he ask me start work first mah. He also told me to put long line get big fish, sacrifice the $300. He will put up a letter seeking to increase pay after 6 months provided I do well. A very nice and knowledgeable boss but the way this situation is handled makes me unhappy.

Hi FireIce,

Boss here probably just a dept hd - not bigger than HR. HR suppose to know salary 'hang seng' and so have the right to over-write boss. A co cannot have 2 new entrants with 2i (may be different dept) paid with a $300 difference! Sorry Dracas you may feel unfair but it is also unfair to the co and perhaps your colleagues. Your boss might be honest since salary hang seng is not his line. He has made the mistake by not consulting HR first. Actually salaries are decided in consultation with HR. So your boss might be just promoted or new.

That is cheating. Your employer should have told you earlier that they will change the agreed salary before you started your work. I think you should file your complain to the management that they have made a mistake.
