THE Institute of Technical Education (ITE) has made it to an
elite class of 13 top employers here.
The list is drawn up by Aon Hewitt, the global human resource
consulting and outsourcing arm of Aon Corporation, which has been
compiling it every two years since 2001.
Five are first-timers. Apart from ITE, the others are American
Express International, Bain & Company South-east Asia, Tata
Consultancy Services and InterContinental Hotels Group.
The other eight are repeat names, with McDonald's and
Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore hotel named this year's outstanding
employers.
Federal Express, Hilti Far East, Singapore Food Industries,
Singapore Prison Service, Singapore Marriott Hotel and Citibank
Singapore round off the list.
All received the awards on Friday at Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
The 13 were picked from a pool of about 50 participating companies
in a study which evaluated several areas - including how well they
engage staff, how effective their human-resource practices are and
business results.
