Bank book account on 1st interview?

Why does some company request for a copy of our bank book account for the 1st interview when they have not decided yet whether they gonna employ us or not?

Issit because most likely they will accept us? Or maybe because if its a mass recruitment, they will take in more people?

neber heard of this.

i oni heard of some co. who wants the bank acct details to credit salary
but they will oni need the name, bank and account lumber
u dun have to show the passbook/statement or how much money u have

i understand most companies only ask for your bank account details after they've confirmed you are employed. but now interview not even done yet.

feeling suspicious? u can ask y they need it even when u nt employed yet.
if u dun feel comfortable or the co. might be fishy, u can find another job

not being suspicious but I hope they are not giving me high hopes that Im confirmed gonna be employed. I send them my resume like a month ago and only now they replied. Its my first choice of job to work of all the places I send my resume to.
