Preparing for an interview

I am going for an interview next week, wish me luck.

Besides reading on the company and the workscope, what else should I prepare for the interview? How and what should I do in order to get the job?

Tell us about yourself.

The usual psycho session they will give you to discourage you from the job and test your confidence levels. Poke you technical questions if your job requires it.

put on your most decent look (or wear a fake glasses but not too trendy type)....it helps 50%....it is the "must-look" pleasant countenance that would create good impression esp. now most interviewers are sluts...

talk clearly and firmly but not overconfident on the questions posed....one of the winning trick is "GEMS" mentality or going the extra mile attitude....this shows u r willing to do more than required....

fake it till u make it....its part truth part acting or showmanship....

nothing is for real ...dun take it too seriously....

"Tell me about yourself" is a must you need to answer in the interview.

And don't only read the job scope. From the scope, know what is expected (eg: team environment, customer-oriented/sales driven, and skills required : mutlitask/ detailed/ able to prioritize/ flexible)

Don't just say, I'm detailed person. Say something like : In my previous company, whenever I'm given a task, I will always double-check all the documents and make sure it's error free. I also like to keep a record of all tasks so I am able to keep track on my schedule as well as to ensure everything runs smoothly without rushing for deadlines.

Interview = Inter_views ie you let the boss see your views and you must show the boss that you are able to see from the boss's view too.

For example, how does the vacancy arise ? Someone resigns from the job, the boss sacks the employee, a new position due to expansion, merging of two jobs into one ? So, you need to know it.

Otherwise, you go on talking how experience you are and how many qualifications you have, how capable you are BUT the boss could just been played out by the former employee who is very capable, highly experienced and qualified and left for a competitor's firm.
