I may give it to them on this, but some office jobs no need
foreigners what. I am sure singaporeans do not shun office work
like admin assistants, accountants, call centre staff etc.
you know why some companies hire foreigners? cos their pay is
very much cheaper than singaporeans, and is on a long contract, so
the company saved a lot on wages. I am sure the government is well
aware of this loophole, taken advantage by the companies. I know of
a company who hire foreign customer service staff who is on a 5
years contract. they usually worked from 8.30am to 8.30pm, mondays
to fridays, and saturdays from 8.30am to 1pm.
yes yet the govt sit back and do nothing to prevent compaanies from
doing that. They claim to punish those that break the ratio rule,
but actually I suspect that they are opening 1 eye and closing 1
eye. They wont take proactive measures against them unless got plp
complain. Our govt isnt proactive in the first place. They wait for
things to happen first before taking actions.
