Why not? If the offer's no good there's no reason to take
it, is there?
A while back, one of my company's competitors approached me with
an offer - I'd met the boss at a conference and I seem to have made
an impression. Anyway, we sat down for a coffee and I heard
her out. The money was better but the job itself was not
particularly challenging, so I said I was flattered, thanked her
and turned it down. I haven't regretted it yet - the money
really wouldn't have made a difference to me, and I would have
gotten bored.
