This is one of the best poem I've read so far. (Not because
Kitty is my fellow moderator)
Beautifully written, simple words used, yet so intense. It provokes
many thoughts in my mind.
Pitched dark.
A chilling cold,
Around my heart
it tightened its hold.
Losing consciousness??? Died from heart attack??? Is he/she alone
when this happened? Who is 'it'??? Death??? The illness???
Deadly silent,
a stilled air.
Pain raked through veins,
as did great despair.
Moment before his/her death??? He/She died in pain??? Why great
despair??? He/She is not ready to died yet???
Peacefully numb.
An endless night.
Memories faded,
as life took flight.
He/She is losing his/her conscious??? Why endless night??? Does it
mean Death is just the beginning of a new journey???
Memories faded,
as life took flight.
Well said! You are you because of your memories, if you do not have
memories, you lose your identity.
Forgotten words,
carved in stone.
Your loving tears flowed
as Death took me home.
Why forgotten words??? Nothing is permanent??? Who is 'Your'??? So
he/she is not alone when he/she died??? Or we are talking about a
loved one visiting the grave??? So she/he is buried???
Lastly, 'as Death took me home', home to where??? Heaven???
So many things come to my mind when I read this. Must put in HOI.
