Poem: Elucidation.Beneath
Even the upturned bikes
Seem orderly enough,
When your floors are children
Of a standard grey heritage
Whose DNA is cheaply auctioned
Like a package for two
Flying to over-clichéd Bangkok.
Your flowers bloom not from the sun
But by the hand of ones
Who never bounded in your joy,
Much less know your domicile.
But they spring up like rabbits
Albeit no hutch they have here
And the ones who call you
Home.
May one day be like rats;
They who made the Titanic famous
And bid that old man cry.
Freedom for us saints,
No taint of the white power,
Not even a downy stick.
If colour is chaos
Let me wear thy shield
Before white death freezes us.
And we fear
We fear.
Seek that light
As the talking cock crows,
For posterity and Asterix,
Respect and Obelix
A healthy nest we must secure
Or our young be damned
From the suffocation of
Our
Leaden
Hands.
