I am applying for the MOE teaching position . I am a NTU graduate in engineering and would be applying for their bonded teachers training for 1 year.

Can anyone who has gone for the MOE teaching position interviews, please share what kind of interview questions they ask?

As an Engineer what subjectswould they offer me to teach?

Does anyone have an idea at the current MOE payscale what salary can an engineer with a midlife career change to teaching can expect?

This is for an engineer with a masters in mechanical engineering from NTu and with 15 years engineering working experience.

Please share your interview experience and how long it took them to come back with a favourable reply?

I am qualified to teach, but I hate teaching.

They will ask sth like “what makes you think that you can teach a class of pupils?”, “what are your teaching experiences?”, “why do you want to teach?”

They will also give you a scenario and ask you how to handle it.

Can't believe so many still want to be teachers after all the common knowledge of working conditions and politics. MOE takes in huge numbers of graduates- a few years ago the number was one in eight. They are still short of teachers and recruiting at full speed. Why?

Do some research online. You should know what you're getting into.
