I just bought a so-called "SUPER HOT $128" SingTel
prepaid top up card at a local 7-eleven store with the intention to
subscribe for another 1-week unlimited data plan. The card says
“ALL YOUR data WISHES GRANTED” and the offer sounds pretty
enticing, doesn’t it? Pay 28$ and get 128$, isn’t this nice?
However, it turned out that I wasted 28 SG$ because the
128$ can be only used for phone calls and SMS but not to subsribe
to any data plan! I am going to stay in Singapore for another one
week and I don’t need a lot of money for local phone calls!
The top up card is completely misleading as it is not
mentioned anywhere on the card that you cannot use it to buy any
data plan.
After wasting more than one hour at the SingTel shop
the customer service apologized and apologized again and again but
didn’t help me at all. I had to spend another 25 SG$ to get the one
week unlimited data I was looking for in the first place.
BOTTOM LINE:
SINGTEL sucks! - I feel ripped off and whenever I’ll
come back to Singapore I won’t choose SingTel again.
