Well I tried using the waypoints (same as the real fl pln) and did a pretty slow step climb (all A340s have a pain in a A$$ climb rate) cruising at 0.74 but i ran out of fuel and had to divert to toronto just like everybody else. Laughing Its a pity that you can't fly polar routes in FS2004.

After a check online with fellow simmers, i discovered that the product makers had missed out this fuel bug. So i just edited the aircraft.cfg file and now fuel flow seems more reasonable.

My graphic card definately didn't do justice to the A345.

The flight dynamics and controls for this aircraft is excellent, has a heavy feel when taxiing on the ground unlike certain freeware.

The ILS and autoland feature has been re-edited by CLS and the aircraft now lands more gently, compared to the default autoland, where I would rather take the plane down manually.

Overall an excellent and value for money payware, of course the top payware would have to be PMDG B747 queen of the skies.

Nice shots , that is why SQ is mulling for the 772LR to replace the A345s. I hope that happens. Their new order will take any place any time now.

Poor A345s, they've only been in service for less than 2 yrs? SQ has never been fond of Airbuses. Lets see when the A380 arrives, i really dislike the A380 for its fat aunty look.

Then again 777s have one of the best climb rates, ZOOM! Their freakin engines are so big and powerful Very Happy

I flown on SGA and SGC , fantastic interior. The A345 is more powerful then her sister, A343. When I flew her to BKK, her 4 Roll Royce Trent engines rocket to the skies, her power was amazing for short flights. As for the US flights , it's not surprising that her climb rate is slower because of the heavy load. Pros and Cons about the A345. I enjoyed the experience.

The aircraft with the best climb rate I feel is the MD-11. Flew on Finnair's MD-11, LGD . Take off was impressive, push you to the seat during take off ! My favourite so far in terms of best climber.

Impressive, i've never flown on MD-11s before. Mostly 777s, 737s, A343 and 747s.
Might get to fly on one someday. Very Happy

Actually talking abt climb rate.. too me, nothing beats the 757 rocketships.. pity, they will be as rare as the MD's soon.. Crying or Very sad

Yea, the 757s and 767 are not selling as well as the 777. So i guess they'll be phrased out of the production line soon?

The last 757 have already be made. production line closed.

Lets hope that the USAF can inject some life into the 767 line if they decide to take the tanker option. If not, i think it will be gone too. soon. Crying or Very sad

767 i feel its pretty small for a tanker, maybe for early airborne warning?

I think the survivor award would go to the 747, i mean theres even the 747-800.
