I've been flying on the a340-313E for a few months now (on
FS2004 project-opensky model) and i've a slight problem getting the
plane aligned on the centre line when landing, esp with strong
crosswinds.
What i did was turn off Autopilot at roughly between 1000-1500ft,
155-160kts, flaps full, take her down to about 150 to 100ft more or
less before using the rudder to turn her back into the centreline
before flaring at about 3 degrees. The thing is by doing so i tend
to get a pretty rough landing and when visbility is really bad, say
CATlll? This method won't work. Another other methods?
The ILS is perfectly normal with good weather, but with strong
winds it gets me down too far to either the left or right of the
rwy, way way off the centreline. Does the ILS system work this way
in the real world.
Last but not least, the a340 is suppose to nose up at 3-4 degrees
during approach right?
