Hong Kong celebrity Charlene Choi (popularly known as A-Sa) was
hospitalized yesterday.
A-Sa was slated to appear in Shanghai for an event yesterday as
a spokesperson for a Shanghai radio station. However, the event was
cancelled when A-Sa could not make it.
According to reports, A-sa was supposed to get on a flight to
Shanghai but around an hour before the flight timing, the radio
station received a call from A-Sa's company that the star had
fainted at home and was being rushed to the hospital.
According to A-Sa's weibo (Chinese equivalent of Twitter), she
has been on medication for her flu since last week. The medication
has been causing her discomfort and before she fainted, she has
been vomiting.
A-Sa's manager Mani told reporters that while A-Sa is now back
at home recuperating, her condition does not seem to be getting
better.
"Her condition is quite serious, for a better understanding you
can read her blog. We do not wish to divulge too much here."
After the news broke, netizens were doubtful, saying that
perhaps A-Sa was never invited by the radio station in the first
place.
To that, the radio station spokesperson said that A-Sa was
attending the event as a form of public service so there are no
monetary losses on their part.
"However, we still hope that A-Sa can recover soon and come back
to Shanghai for the event."
