Avoid Duplicity

BJK SG

Duplicity is a waste of limited resources. Examples of duplicity at Media Corps stations are:

I suggest stop these duplicity in order to better use of limited resources. I congratulate Media Corps for the launching of dedicated Tamil station, Vasantham in Oct 2008.

I suggest channel U be dedicated to international languages programmes. Korean dramas at channel U can be retained but include other languages such Brazilian,Japanese, French, Punjabi, Hindi, Malayalam, Iranian, Arab, etc. Remember we have more than a million foreigners in Singapore.

I feel there isn't too much of overlap although I admit inevitably there are.

If you want to wide genre of channels, you can opt for cable TV or MIO tv...

Since Mediacorps and MDA always quoted limited resources as reasons, eg for not broadcasting the recent soccer match bt Sg and Jordan played at National Stadium. any duplicity no matter how small should be stopped.
Anyway, mediacorps should also stop all transmission of its stations at 1.00 am. Is there any data showing the no. of viewers watching those programmes that are shown after 1.00am.
Majority of Singaporeans owned DVD/VCD players, hence they can resort to own entertainment after 1.00am. Or as lainmaster said, they can opt for Starhub or MIO channels.

lianamaster SG

True.... I also dun watch shows after 1am unless they are showing some holiday movies and stuff....

I was disappointed last night with Media Corps for replacing documentary programme at channel Okto, 9.00 pm slot with an English local produced drama. What direction is Media Corps moving? There are already many English local produced dramas or sitcom at channel 5. Are they not sufficient? Channel Okto is meant for school kids during daytime but at night it should be broadcasting serious programmes like documentaries on health, nature, medicine, technology . I don't mind if sports programmes are broadcasted but not dramas. Media corps, please avoid duplicating the types of programmes in your channels, remember you have limited resources and wide audience.

Media corps have done a good job for their radio stations. There is a serious music station at 92.40FM. Therefore, channel Okto should be broadcasting serious programmes after 8.00pm, every night.

you guys don't get it do you?

it's basically making "free-to-air" as crap as possible so that you go subscribe with Starhub or Mio
