Crossfire is a forum-styled current affairs programme that aims to capture the interest of the post-independence generation of Singaporeans and PMEBs. It will be an excellent avenue for this new generation of non-conformist and introspective executives and professionals to share their views and debate about matters affecting local and even foreign current affairs. Issues discussed can range from politics, economics, health, education, culture and social issues to new societal trends such as casinos, 'one-night stands' and even extramarital affairs.In each episode, there will be three guests from various professions who will form the panelists of the forum. Panelists will voice their opinions spontaneously without the host directing questions at them. The host will then adopt a role as a mediator of the forum to facilitate discussions, gather and adjust conflicting views from all parties.

Study Mums should not be allowed to work here
Why do they need to work here in the first place?
No money? Well, if they can't afford, they should not send their kids here. If all Singaporeans have the same kind of attitude, we will all be flooding the universities in UK, USA and Australia and their job markets.

They want to send their kids here. It's their choice. We don't force them. But when they have no money and no job here, they should not be blaming our government. We don't owe them a living.

What about letting them work in food courts etc? Well, currently, we have Singaporeans and Malaysians working in those places. We do not need the Study Mums to contribute to our workforce. Besides, they can't speak English and we are a multi cultural society. What can they do for us?

In conclusion, I do not condone Study Mums snatching our fellow citizens' ricebowl.

If they have some talents to contribute to our society where professionals are lacking (eg. professions in biomedic, medicine etc), I can close one eye. But why do we need Study Mums to work in foodcourt, massage parlour, wet market!?!?!?!? If we were to provide jobs to foreigners, I would rather take Malaysians. After all, Malaysians are more familiar with our culture here and have less language barriers (they can speak English, Mandarin, Chinese dialects and Malay).

One question to all Study Mums : Do you come to Singapore to take care of your kid, or to work???

Me ever wonder if the relevant authorities have any real factual stats in relations to these study mums who are overstayers and illegally staying on in view for a better life… They tried so hard to get away from their so-called motherland, and do you think they would want to return?

Petition to local Government : If the Study Mums dare protest outside embassies or any other public place, please arrest them for illegal gathering, like the way the protestors were arrested outside CPF building.

Whatever law applies to us, should apply to them. They want to come here, they have to obey our law. Mad

Technically, they are able to stay here for a few days before the relevant documents expired. But with their kids here, it's a different matter, and that's why it's headache for us now. We shouldn't have made allowance in the first place.

Dun think we can ever get the exact figure for that, since they are illegal. Remember Huang Na's case, whereby her mother came to Singapore illegally and we could not even trace, until the murder was reported all over the place.

They don't want to return, all the more we have to send them back. We have limited resources and no. of jobs here. We can't possibly house them just because they want better life. We have to take care of our own citizens too. If our employment rate drops again, the Study Mums are not going to feel sorry for us. Therefore, we have to voice out to our authorities to take care of us first. Study Mums, they can get their own PRC government to find ways for them. We pay taxes to our government and our boys serve National Service. The PRCs don't.

If MOM stipulates that all foreign workers (by which to include study mums) has to be classified into the various trades and skills, with references to our legislations and provisions, they have to abide to it... Should they want to work, abide to our legislations and according to the classification on their work permit...
