Li Nanxing denies break-up
Actor calls rumours of separation with his wife of 10 years
'rubbish'
VETERAN actor Li Nanxing has denied that he is calling it quits
with his wife of 10 years, actress Yang Libing.
A Lianhe Zaobao report said Li, 40, and Yang, 39, have been
separated since November last year and have filed for
divorce.
It quoted unnamed sources as saying a businesswoman came between
the couple. Lianhe Wanbao said Yang asked Li for a divorce.
Shin Min Daily News said the couple, who have no children, have
moved out of their marital home in Sin Ming Road. It quoted their
neighbour as saying they sold their terrace house before the
Chinese New Year.
Another neighbour told Shin Min that the couple's maid told her
maid more than a month ago: 'My employers are breaking up.'
But the actor has dismissed the rumours as 'rubbish'.
Ms Teri Tan, his manager, told Zaobao that all the actor had to say
to speculation surrounding his marriage was: 'Rubbish, it's a waste
of time to talk about it.'
Yang's elder sister, actress Lina, said she had not heard of a
split. She told Zaobao that she sees her sister every day and the
latter looks happy.
Li married Yang in November 1994, and they bought their home for
$1.4 million then.
In 2002, he told Life! in an interview that he and his wife were so
busy, they hardly had time to meet - much less make babies.
He said then: 'It's become like a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship
again. So in a way it's good.'
