Vicki Zhao linked to attack again
HONG KONG - First, Vicki Zhao was accused of instigating an attack
on her estranged business partner, Zou Xue.
Now, the 28-year-old Chinese actress has been linked to an attack
on her one-time alleged boyfriend, hairstylist Yi Ming, say Hong
Kong reports.
Zhao worked with Yi last year on the Ann Hui film, Goddess Of
Mercy, and there was talk last month that they had been
dating.
Recently, Yi received two threatening SMSes which warned him to
shut up.
On Sunday night, he and a female assistant were about to enter a
commercial building in Beijing when two men, armed with bricks,
beat him up.
The men hit him in the mouth for about three minutes and shouted at
him to 'shut his mouth'. They did not specify about what.
He suffered such severe injuries to his lips that he could not
speak for some time, reports said.
His colleague, a Madam Qu, was quoted in Hong Kong's Wen Wei Po as
saying that the incident was linked to the rumours of his romance
with Zhao.
But Zhao's agent and sister-in-law Chen Rong denied that the
actress had dated the hairstylist and said Zhao did not know that
Yi had been assaulted.
Yesterday, Yi himself was quoted in a report on China's Sina news
portal as saying: 'I'm positive the people who attacked me have
nothing to do with Vicki Zhao.'
