something similiar to tis:

upgrade to 2.0 or 2.4 and 512MB Ram dun need additional 250...

bismarck SG

DA...then based on the specs i give u.
waht's the cost?
plus i need someone to assemble for me

bismarck SG

btw let's separate things a little.

20GB and 40Gb ext HDD costs how much? ( u know i am refering to those USB ones right?)

DevilAngel77 SG

i wonder leh.. u so good to ur lecturer ah?
if assemble for frn, ppl will help.. but in ur case, assemble for a frn's lecturer.. hmm.. like it's mentioned above.. not a lot of ppl will help lor...

then for the cost.. it all varies..
wat's his purpose for his PC, then determines wat kind of component to buy..

DevilAngel77 SG

depends on the price u willing to pay for the casing...
cost is price of casing+price of HDD.

bismarck SG

i thought those portable HDD already have a casing?

bismarck SG

his kind is home use 1.
not that i am nice to my lecturer but i mean, i am doing this in my spare time loh. of course, my fyp more impt lah.
i think can add in the cost to assemble the pc lah.

ok. let's set things straight.
he wants(i suggested) this
AMD or P4 2.0Ghz ard
512MB ram
64MB graphics card ( ave 1, but tentative)
HDD use back old 1.
sound card?
motherboard?

those with ? can u guys suggest something compatible?

DevilAngel77 SG

ok.. to be clear...
a portable HDD consist of 2 thing. a portable HDD casing that has an USB port and can house a 2.5" HDD that is normally used to laptops.

thus.. unless u r buying together(may be more exp) as a bundle, if not there will be 2 cost lor..

DevilAngel77 SG

still very funny leh...
u say do in ur free time.. but yet u dun seems to be the kind who know how to assemble a PC.. so i guess u r getting someone else to assemble it.. so wat is ur role in here?
Confused

bismarck SG

no lah, i dunno how to assemble a com..just that i came up with a specs that a home user can use but not to the extend of an overkill.

my role here is to help him come up with something( a specs list) because he's more technologically challenged than me. then i need some quotes lah, sort of where to find cheap and reliable parts, watever u call it. then need someone to do the assembly loh.

bismarck SG

because waht i usually see on hardware mags are like an oversized pack of cards...
complete with casing,cable etc.

those kinds

bismarck SG

now i am formally asking for someone to liase directly with my lecturer.
spoken to him, he's willing to pay for the installation.

so u will speak and discuss with him abt the specs he wants and build it for him. u wont go thru me.

please PM me yr contact number and name. i will pass this to him and u can go settle it.
