The Marylebone High Street Christmas lights will be turned on in
a festive display of Winter Wonderland this November.
With a magical star in the form of Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter,
the switching on of the Christmas lights in Marylebone High Street
will a fabulous start to the Christmas season in London. With
carols, a Christmas grotto and plenty of entertainment, you'll want
to be there to see the lights being switched on.
The Winter Wonderland theme of the Marylebone High Street has been
created with the Harry Potter star in mind. Bonnie Wright plays the
auburn haired Ginny, one of the notorious Weasley children who all
have some tricks up their sleeves in the Harry Potter novels. You
can experience some of the wizardly magic here at Marylebone High
Street as there will be plenty of street performers and festive
entertainers.
Before the Christmas lights are switched on, there will be a carol
concert from local children on the Marylebone High Street stage,
continuing with more live music afterwards. A whole host of festive
activities will be taking place on the day, with many stands and
stalls lining the street.
Mulled wine will be on offer to stave off the winter chill, and of
course there will be mince pies to accompany them, provided by
Waitrose. Hot food will come from the Prince Regent, Le Pain
Quotidien and Eat and 2 Veg who will have stands on the High
Street. With all the festive food and wine to keep you in the
Christmas spirit, you'll find plenty of things to entertain
you.
As you walk down Marylebone High Street to appreciate the Christmas
lights, you can see the added extras of the special Christmas
decorations in all the shop windows. Plus, there will be the
judging of a Christmas card design competition that will see one
winner picked from hundreds of entries to win some fabulous festive
prizes.
And of course no switching on of Christmas lights in London would
be complete without the addition of Father Christmas. He will be in
his Christmas grotto getting ready to check his list of good nad
bad children, and your kids can visit him and recieve a present
from 4pm onwards.
To round off the special celebrations that accompany the Marylebone
High Street Christmas lights, there will be an amazing display of
fireworks. In truly festive style, the fireworks will add the
atmosphere of yuletide fun.
