Veteran Dutch keeper Ronald Waterreus looks likely to be the
answer to Newcastle United's goalkeeping dilemma.
Magpies boss Glenn Roeder is keen to bring in short-term cover
after number one Shay Given required an operation on a stomach
injury.
The 36-year-old was released by Rangers at the end of last season
and has yet to fix himself up with a new club.
That would suit Newcastle perfectly as Roeder is only looking to
sign a keeper to take him up to the New Year by which time Given
should be back in the side.
