i believe there's a twist at the end of the last book.
Snape is a double-double agent, which will eventually explain why
dumbledore trusted him implicitly. After all, which death eater
will dare doubt him after becoming 'dumbledore's conquerer'?
Then again, it's half a kid's book and an adult
fantasy-fiction.
