Interesting bit of news from the Sun newspaper in UK.
Potter punters bets scam
By THOMAS WHITAKER

BOOKIES fear a Harry Potter betting sting after punters staked
thousands on JK Rowling killing off the wizards GIRLFRIEND.
The Sun revealed earlier this month how the millionaire author
confessed to fans that a character will meet their end in her sixth
book.
And last night internet firm Blue Square reported a flood of bets
on love interest Cho Chang played on screen by Katie Leung
dying in Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince.
Spokesman Ed Pownall said: Its very odd. Even the betting pattern
has been a bit mysterious.
A lot of people have opened accounts in the middle of the night
and placed their first-ever bets on Cho Chang being killed off.
This suggests they at least think they know something.
The maximum punt for this kind of bet is £100 and weve had a few
of them as well as several of £50.
This has forced us to cut the odds on Cho by more than half from
8-1 to 3-1.
Ed joked: Weve yet to see the name Rowling appear on the betting
ticker, so these mysterious bets havent spooked us completely
yet.
But much more money for young Cho and it looks like she could be
hanging up her wand forever.
Cho became a fans favourite when she
was introduced in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
Harry fell for her and they kissed.
A spokesman for author JK, 39, left who revealed her death plot
in a website chat called the Cho rumours pure
speculation.
He said: Only JK knows whats in the book she is currently
writing.
Until its finished and edited, no one can be sure what
happens.
The press made a mistake. Cho was
introduced in Harry Potter and
the Prisoner of Azkaban as Ravenclaw seeker during the final
QUidditch match of the year. Remember Oliver Wood telling Harry
Potter to "bump her off"?
