InnoHippo SG http://www.abc.net.au/news/indepth/featureitems/s1499095.htm Music fans are being warned of security issues associated with "content protected" CDs, after entertainment giant Sony BMG was found to be using anti-piracy software which hides itself on customers' PCs, in a similar way to viruses, worms and trojans. ........... "Then our user first plays one of the CDs in his PC, and everything works fine. But after he starts playing the second CD, his computer crashes and wont boot again. This is something I would not like to associate with buying legal CDs."
The man who was death SG Avextrax CDs also protected one, some proctected CDs can’t even play on pc and old hi-fi system
ditzy SG avextrax cds have their own proprietary player embedded into the cd itself. They play automatically and can’t use 3rd party software to play them.
The man who was death SG to deter piracy, english cds should follow chinese cds and free videos mah dun even need to have an extra vcd can just put the video in the cd that can be played on pc although the quality not good.
LazerLordz SG Boycott. There is a case that they can be charged with unauthorised access, if technicalities hold.
The man who was death SG Can boycott the CDs but hard to boycott ur fav artiste especially if u no credit card to pay for legal downloads. see lor want to support my fav artiste but they force me to dl illegally
Wanda SG I read the article, and don't quite understand. Why does Sony want to crash/disable the man's pc? And what right do they have to do such a thing?
InnoHippo SG this is unintentional on Sony's part. they only wanted to stop copying using PC. now they are recalling back millions of music CDs
the Bear SG can i go rant against Sony? damn.. i'm using a bloody Sony VIAO and it'll crash because of a bloody Sony CD? can i insist they give me a brand new VIAO?
