Holy Orders is a Sacrament of indeliable character, just like
Baptism. It cannot be reversed. What is done is simply to strip
these errant priests of all authority. Masses celebrated are valid,
but illicit. Marriages celebrated are invalid. Confessions and Last
Rites are only valid in the danger of death where there is no
possibility of finding a priest in good standing.
