TehJarVu SG just curious, the Cathedral means St Andrew’s Cathedral right? if it is, then how come it’s in the Roman Catholic forum? i thot St Andrew’s is Anglican…
ObiterDicta SG No, in the Catholic world, the Cathedral means the smaller, humbler, less well-known Cathedral of the Good Shepherd. regards, obiterdicta
ObiterDicta SG Yes, that is correct. The one that's currently being invaded by the construction work on the MRT Circle Line. regards, obiterdicta
ObiterDicta SG Depends on what you mean by 'HQ'. The Cathedral is the 'bishop's church', and it is close to the residence of the bishop. There are many important administrative functions of the Church that are performed elsewhere. regards, obiterdicta
laurence82 SG Because i do pass by the place often, and i see a sign, and hopefully i didnt see wrongly, that states that the place is the 'HQ of the Roman Catholic Church in Singapore'. I believe the Cathedral is just next to the Bishop's residence right?
ObiterDicta SG Ah yes, if the sign says 'HQ', then that's the HQ, whatever the term means. And yes, the Cathedral is next to the Archbishop's Residence. regards, obiterdicta
SingaporeMacross SG You should hang out at the Cathedral more often. There are many Korean chicks there!!! I was sitting behind some on Sunday.
