Despite the endorsement from many so-called early church fathers
and so on....be it the roman or eastern church. The fact that the
Bible never records any of these shows that these issues are not
crucial and doctrinally important.
The Bible actually does and the tracts have been quoted before,
its just that non-Catholic Christians convineintly ignore
these.
There are many other marian dogmas that are no found in Scriptures,
but rather from hints
Technically speaking there are no "Marian dogmas".
Christianity is about Christ and Christ alone. The Savior is Christ
and Him alone is sufficient. No need for Co-redeemer, no need for
Co-mediatrix.
And such Marian veneration as the RC calls it
Agreed its is about Christ alone. Catholics never say Mary is
Co-reedmer. As for Mary's veneration, its about intercession and
intercession is not the same as praying to her.And yes veneration
of holy men is mentioned in the Bible(something ignored
again)
A 'Mary' that appears here and there....revealing mysteries and
very often after every apparitions new dogmas and new teachings are
given. new devotions..very often directed towards herself and at
times adding on to what the Bible says.... Immaculate Conception is
one classical example.
The legitimate apparations never added anything to dogma.
Declared by
Pope Pius IX on 8 Dec 1854,
that the Blessed Virgin Mary "in the first instance of her
conception, by a singular privilege and grace granted by God, in
view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the human race,
was preserved exempt from all stain of original sin" was related to
the subsequent appearance of 'Mary' at Lourdes.
Actually by declaring this the pope did not state something new,
he merely stated what the Church had believed all along. A lot of
people think that this pope invented this doctrine when in reality
it was always the Church's teachings based upon the Bible.
