I know if it flickers rapidly on and off during read. Its most
probably a cyclic redundancy error. Some cd-rom drives do their own
dignostics and self check and display some other colour led to
signal its user. If it works fine, I wouldn't be too concerned
about the colour of my cd-rom led.
