i would not reccomend going to bras basah. because the only shop
in bras basah complex is art friend, and their art and crafts
materials are not cheap. felt is over-priced in my opinion.
if you want fabric, go china town people's park complex level 2.
they will open from 12pm-7pm usually. take your time to walk down
the rows of shops, the shopkeepers will advice you. credibility
wise, they are safest to buy from. least spoilage in fabrics and
most likely wont cheap your $.
otherwise, u can go to arab st. but when you go there, make sure
u patronise from the shops that u see chinese uncles manning. try
not to get from the other shops as they are not the "real" fabric
shops; most are tailors.
if not, try textile centre, but u would need to buy in bulk.
daiso fabrics are affordable, but dont u think they comes
in odd sizes or shapes? dont it make u
feel difficult/restricted ?
spotlight have the most expensive fabrics in singapore.
haha.
since its just a hobby phase for you, why not try searching for
basic sewing books on national library level 8?
if you are more keen onto sewing, then probably u can buy books
from Basheer at bras basah complex. or probably take up some
enrichment courses.
