Johor is sending delegate to SG to get S'poreans back to JB

sbst275 SG

The Johor Police Chief, City Minister among the delegate to get Singaporeans back to JB to shop...

There has been a 1million Singaporean visits less compared to last year

They hope to achieve:

Assurance that JB is safe
Singaporeans are not targeted by theft and Customs Offical

*But having a proud MB dun help

skeujin SG

aiya let both sides work out how to make both immigration n customs checkpoint clearace to move faster n there will b more visitors liao

sbst275 SG

Even if clearance is faster, the prob is, security issue is not solved

Johor has the worst kind of Chief Minister in entire Malaysia

charlize SG

Woohoo.

First time see sbst bad mouthing someone. Laughing

skeujin SG

to me. sercurity will be hindered if the causeway area is jammed packed with hundreds of cars, busses n bikes.

any smart terrorist will bomb both the friggin causeways if it wants to cripple singapore.

tink of the effect it would have on us. thousands will die. emergency vehicles will not b able to reach them.sg wnt get our over land food supplies....

threatening sg is very simple. jus destroy the causeways n changi terminals the arms n legs of sg n the whole nation will b in a panic.

sbst275 SG

We are not talking abt SG side

We are actually talking Malaysians trying to woo tourism dollar from Singaporeans aft -ve press report on their security

skeujin SG

well then my 1st post still counts. the jam at the causeway. jb side is still crap.

dragg SG

they allegedly lose 225 million tourist dollars because 1 million less singaporeans visited malaysia.

sbst275 SG

But you see Johor MB's attitude, insist JB is save and welcomes Singaporeans...

Pui... He dispise Singapore and what he wants is our $$

KumSioJui SG

Do the math, something is not right.

I suspect that their checkpoint computerised system is a farce, it was built during the height of tensions between singapore and malaysia to show us that they were more efficient. Can you imagine if you malaysian breezing thru your own malaysia checkpoint, 'just touch and go' nobody bother to search you or check you for any bombs, drugs or weapons.

So if they are not checking thats means we end up having to do all the checking to make sure no illegal stuff gets thru thats why we have such a huge backlog not because they more efficient.

sbst275 SG

Another thing that has been dug out, they only collect the white card and stamp the passport, but they hardly record properly into the computer system

dragg SG

johor and kl has different mentality.

sbst275 SG

Central hopes for better ties with SG, the chopstick theory goes

As for Johor, they think they have a 'world class' seaport and airport, they think they can complete with us

skeujin SG

i go in every week. they do scan or key in the passport numbers n also scan in the white card bar code.

sbst275 SG

Then why they said 11 million Singaporeans did not leave Malaysia in 2004?

elindra SG

I think more Singaporeans go to KL now instead of JB because they feel safer.

I mean how can Singaporeans feel safe in JB when their Malaysian friends tell them they themselves don't feel safe in JB and prefer to shop in KL instead Laughing

Ok this might not apply to all but this is what my JB Malaysian friends tell me.

sbst275 SG

The meeting is useless, JB side still insist the current situation is still considered safe

dragg SG

they only slashed you.

so it is still quite safe.

Surprised

ditzy SG

Why not they pay us to visit JB? Laughing
