DUBAI : The Europe branch of the Al-Qaeda network warned it
would avenge the killing and torture of Muslims around the globe in
one of a flurry of statements issued on the fourth anniversary of
September 11.
In a statement posted on an Islamic website, the group warned it
would wage attacks like the deadly London bombings in July.
A suspected American member of Al-Qaeda also threatened attacks
against Los Angeles and the Australian city of Melbourne, while
several groups claiming links to Osama bin Laden's network also
vowed to exact revenge for a US-led strike on rebels in Iraq, some
warning of chemical weapons attacks.
